Obituary
William DeBerry, 78, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating, assisted by Lou Balenton. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. DeBerry was born April 25, 1929, in Martha, Okla. He was a lifelong farmer as well as a custom harvester. He received a safety award from U.S. Custom Harvesters for 18 years of service. He owned and operated DeBerry Trucking. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Angie DeBerry of Plainview; one daughter, Deena DeBerry of Arlington; three sons, Dale DeBerry and wife Deborah of Lubbock, Don DeBerry and wife Sharon of Cuero, Texas, and Darrell DeBerry and wife Kim of Olton; one brother, Gary DeBerry of Olton; five grandchildren, Dawn DeBerry Stump, Drew DeBerry, Kolby DeBerry, Ashley DeBerry Scherwitz and Dustin DeBerry; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; and stepchildren, Martin and Sophia Suarez of Andrews, Isabell Lozano and family of Anson, Tina Herrera and family of Abilene, Adolfo Hernandez of Carrizo Springs and Andy Hernandez of Carrizo Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Annie Dee DeBerry. The family will receive friends and family from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.
