Obituary

Merle Dayton, 89, of Plainview, died Thursday, March 14, 2013. Funeral services were held Friday, March 15, 2013 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial followed in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Jo Merle was born April 21, 1923, to Joe and Florence O'Dell in Sulpher Springs. She married Leslie Lee Dayton in 1945 in Plainview. He preceded her in death. She was very devoted to her family. She loved to sew and was a seamstress for the public. She was a dedicated phone volunteer for many organizations through the years. She loved keeping up with current events and the everyday lives of her family and friends. Her greatest treasure was her family.
She is survived by her nine children, June Seddo and husband Frank of San Antonio, Marsha Birdsong of Plainview, Vicki Ingold and Jaimie Ingold of Corpus Christi, Carla Dayton of Plainview, John Dayton and wife Leah of Plainview, Debbie Dodson of Amarillo, Lisa Ballard of Lubbock, Shelley Roberts of Lubbock and Lorri Matlock and husband Jerry of Plainview; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
