Dawson, J.D.

COTTON CENTER ? Funeral services for J.D. Dawson, 61, will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Land, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center.

Mr. Dawson died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Wise County. He moved to Cotton Center from Hale Center in 1974 and farmed. He ahd served on the Cotton Center School Board for 18 years and was a member of First Baptist church.
On July 11, 1970, he married Jo Margaret ?Jody? Barrett.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Lorene Dawson of Hale Center; three sons, Tim Masters and Michael Masters, both of Cotton Center, and Tracy Dawson of Van; three daughters, Sheryl Brunson and Sharlotte Clements, both of Lubbock, and Shanna Kirkland of Cotton Center; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His father, Edgar Dawson, and a sister, Alice Lee, are deceased.

Pallbearers will be Joe McFerrin, John Starnes, Danny Sageser, Kenneth Ashby, Monte Lee, Ed Horsford and Tony Castilleja.
