Davis, Norman F.

ABERNATHY ? Funeral services for Norman F. Davis, 60, were at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Wilcox, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis died Friday, May 7, 1999 in Covenant Hospital in Lubbock.

He was born Feb. 2, 1939, in Ralls. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1957 and from West Texas State University in 1962. He served with the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1964 and moved from Dumas to Abernathy in 1983. He was employed with Northrup King in New Deal for 35 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a volunteer firefighter.

On Jan 31, 1970, he married Betty Martin in Dumas.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tony Davis of Lubbock; his mother, Joe Davis of Floydada; a sister, Lana Peterson of Amarillo; and a grandson.

The family suggests memorials to the Remodeling Fund at First Baptist Church, 411 Seventh Street, Abernathy, TX 79311.
