Obituary
Services for Harold V. Davis, 89, of Abernathy will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at First United Methodist Church of Abernathy with the Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Covenant Hospital in Plainview.
Mr. Davis was born May 18, 1916 in Duke, Okla. He married Isabell Harral Aug. 21, 1937 in Clovis, N.M. He was a lifelong resident of Abernathy and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He helped build Tuco and City Gin and the addition to the Methodist Church building while serving on the building committee in 1957. He owned and operated Service Grain Company for 20 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Isabell of Abernathy; two sons, Harold G. Davis of Lubbock, and Eddie C. Davis of Dallas; a daughter, Dorothy Reeves of Abernathy; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and James Davis; and two sisters, Pauline Durrett and Hazel Linton.
