Davis, David, Mrs. (Sylvia Ann Ferguson)

Funeral services for Sylvia Ann Ferguson Davis, 61, of Horizon City, will be at 2p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church of Plainview with the Rev. Mary Lou Dillon, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Sylvia Ann Ferguson, daughter of the late Percy and Vivian Ferguson, on July 21, 1941, in Junction City, Kan. She graduated from Plainview High School in May 1959 and attended Texas Christian University, Oklahoma Panhandle State College, Wayland Baptist University, Texas Tech University and graduated from West Texas State University with a bachelor?s degree in May 1967.

She later attended seminary and began teaching at Floydada ISD as an elementary teacher. She also taught at Alice, Big Spring, Bovina and Fabens. She retired in 1994.

On June 19, 1976, she married David Davis in Plainview.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, LeeAnn Davis of Horizon City; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Terri Davis; and a friend, Katherine Cawthon.

Her father-in-law, W.M. Daniel Davis, also is deceased.
