Obituary

SHALLOWATER -- Memorial services for Connie Davis, 81, were at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitch Wilson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements were by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Davis died Saturday, April 3, 2004, in Lubbock. He was born in Elgin, Okla., on Feb. 21, 1923, the son of John Henry and Tennie Davis. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned and operated A-1 Tractor Service and was a member of First Baptist Church. On Dec. 25, 1948, he married Dimple Ford. Survivors include five children, Cecilia Adams, Pat Underwood and Butch Davis, all of Lubbock, Theresa Howell of Pensacola, Fla., and Mark Davis of Mustang, Okla.; three sisters, Lennie Smallin of Aurora, Colo., and Johnsey Porter and Vida Nabors, both of Abernathy; a brother, Arbra Davis of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
