Obituary

Queenie Davis, 86, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Garland Street Church of Christ, with Steve Gantt officiating. Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Open visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Queen Esther (Queenie) Ross Davis was the fifth child of the late Johnny and Willie Mae Ross. She was born July 12, 1926, in Henderson County and attended public schools. She was married to the late Bob Lee Davis on July 24, 1942. The couple moved to West Texas. Twelve children were born of this union. Four died in infancy. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. Queenie was preceded in death by her husband Bob Lee Davis; two brothers, Jay Ross and Sanford Ross; and two sisters, Luddie Freeman and Gladys Ross. She leaves to cherish her memories her surviving brother Jason Ross of Lubbock, and sister Betty Rae Gray of Fort Worth. Mrs. Davis is survived by eight children, four sons, Henry Bob, Johnny Dean, Robert Lee and Jason Bob Davis, and four daughters, Esther Lee Brown, Bobbie Jean Wilson, Vester Mae Wilson and Ruby Jean Brown; 37 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
