Obituary

Rex Davey, 73, of Plainview went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2009, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Trinity Fellowship Church in Plainview with the Rev. Steve Rogers officiating, assisted by the Rev. Vance Mitchell. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at the funeral home. Rex was born March 31, 1936, in Parker, Kan. He married Wanda Troutman on Nov. 5, 1955. Rex loved his family and friends and most of all his Lord and Savior. He will be dearly missed and never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Opal Davey. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Davey of Plainview; three daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Bud Taylor of Floydada, Shonda and Roger Lee of Flomot and Kandice and Hunt Whitehead of Southlake; five grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Schupbach of Aurora, Colo., Erin Ralston of Fort Worth, Jenne Wesley of Fort Worth and Hayden and Harrison Whitehead of Southlake; three great-grandchildren; four siblings, John and Shirley Davey of Plainview, Barbara and Jim Jackson of Plainview, Evonna McIntosh of Missouri and Joyce Burns of Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
