Obituary

Funeral services for M.E. "Eddie" Daugherty, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Daugherty died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at his residence. He was born Dec. 18, 1929, east of Abernathy to James Morgan and Mary Ann Jeffery Daugherty. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He moved from east Abernathy to Plainview in 1957. Survivors include one brother, Lloyd D. Daugherty of Mineral Wells; and numerous nephews, nieces and extended family. Two brothers, James Albert Daugherty and Elmer Daugherty; and four sisters, Thelma Cameron, Mary Harrison, Carrie Springer and Dorothy Bain, are deceased.
