Funeral services for Wilson Walter Daffern, 87, will be at 2p.m. Thursday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with DR. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Daffern died at 2:50 a.m. today, June 7, 2000, in Prairie House Living Center
He was born March 22, 1913, in Matador. He attended Plainview High Schools and graduated from Plainview High School. He worked for Harvest Queen Mill and Culligan Soft Water and was an independent agent for Farmers Insurance Group, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, was a 32nd Degree Mason and a former member of the Optimist Club.
On Oct. 3, 1934, he married Nell Parsons in Clovis, N.M.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Opal Zeleny of Plainview; one son, Fred Daffern of Lamesa; one brother, Roy Daffern of Plainview; one sister, Irene Hardaway of Happy; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A son, Steven Lynn Daffern, is deceased.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home.
