Obituary

Funeral services for Ebah Leatherman Curb, 89, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Garland Street Church of Christ with J.W. Hamby officiating, assisted by Larry Hamby and Russell Harris, assisting. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Curb died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. She was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Floyd County to James Luther Johnson and Zela Yoakum Johnson. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator for many years before retiring. She married Austin Curb in December 1993 in Plainview. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ since 1956, the year she moved to Plainview. Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Nelda and David Brooks of Snyder and Dee and Ralph Stone of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and J. Marie Leatherman of Tulia and Gary and Cecile Leatherman of Irving; five brothers, Otis Johnson and Windle Johnson, both of Floydada, Acie Johnson of Lovington, N.M., J.L. Johnson Jr. of Lufkin and Pete Johnson of Spring; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her parents, husband, sister Imogean Johnson and two brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Ottis Johnson, are deceased.
