Lockney- Funeral services for Peggy Peacock Cumby, 62, will be at 4 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Rev. Tre Cates of Boulder, Colo., officiating, assisted by the Rev. Phillip Golden, pastor.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Moore-Rose- White Funeral Home Funeral Home of Lockney.
Mrs. Cumby died Friday, September 29, 2000, at her residence in Lockney.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1938 in Olney to the late Foy and Othell Merrell Peacock. She attended schools in Quitaque and graduated from high school in Plainview in 1955. She graduated from Lippert?s Business School in 1957. She married Jim Cumby on Aug. 3, 1962 in Mesquite. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper until she retired in 1969. She was a member of East Field Baptist Church in Mesquite. She moved to Lockney from Dallas in August, 1997.
She is survived by her husband; a son Jimmy Cumby of Columbia, S.C.; a daughter, Christy Frizzell of Lockney; two brothers, J.C. Purcell of Beaver, Okla. and Doyle Purcell of Borger; a sister, Linda Martin of Kress, and three grandchildren, Weston Cumby, Kaden Cumby and Kylie Frizzell.
