Obituary

Funeral services for Joe R. Culpepper, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor, officiating. Private burial will be held later in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Culpepper died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 30, 1926, in Hopkins County. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. He owned and operated Joe's Plumbing for 30 years and was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. On Oct. 4, 1955, he married Audine Jarrett. Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert Culpepper of New York, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sammy and Bettye Voyles of Plainview; a twin sister and brother-in-law, Merle and Josie Daniel of Cleburne; two grandchildren, Beth Voyles of Irving and Sam Voyles of Plainview; and his loving caregivers. Two sons and one brother are deceased. The family suggests memorials to Seth Ward Baptist Church.
