Obituary

Funeral services for Darla Jeanette Cross, 68, will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Garland Street Church of Christ with Russell Harris, minister, and J.W. Hamby, an elder, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Cross died at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in Covenant Hospital. She was born Darla Jeanette Allison on Aug. 22, 1937, in Lockney. She graduated from Lockney High School and attended Texas Tech. She moved to Plainview in 1971 and held a real estate license and worked for Sears until retiring in 1990. She then worked for Dr. Richard Morgan. She was an active member of Plainview Band Parents, serving as a past president and a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. On Dec. 10, 1955, she married Marion Cross in Lockney. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dr. Ricky Cross and Curtis Cross, both of Plainview, and Patrick Cross of Palm Springs, Calif.; a brother, Donald Allison of Carrollton; and four grandchildren. A daughter, her parents and a sister are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
