Funeral services for Billie Dean Craig, 79, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Colquitt Nash, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Craig died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, in Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. She was born June 28, 1926, in Lockney to Hugh and Modena Waller Trussell. Mrs. Craig graduated from Lockney High School and moved to Plainview where she attended Watson's Business College. She married Gene Craig Oct. 15, 1948, in Kress. Mrs. Craig began her business career as bookkeeper for Thatcher Printing Co. in Plainview, which sold to Eaton-Sudduth Stationery which later became Eaton Stationery. She became a partner and the name was changed to Eaton-Craig Stationery. She later became sole owner until her retirement. An active member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ, she taught Toddler Bible Class for many years. She was also active in civic organizations, including Soroptimist, Women's Chamber of Commerce and La Casa Club. Survivors include her husband; one sister, Mary Beth Calloway of Canyon; six nieces and one nephew. Her parents, one sister and one brother are deceased.
