Obituary

Funeral services for Gene Craig, 82, will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Colquitt Nash, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Craig died at 9:48 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, in Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. He was born May 8, 1923, in Sherman to Cecil B. and Lilian May Craig. He graduated from Plainview High School and served in the Army during WWII as a radar technician. He married Billie Dean Trussell on Oct. 15, 1948, in Kress. She died Aug. 10, 2005. Mr. Craig retired from Southwestern Public Service Company after 38 years of employment. He had a great love for airplanes and held a pilot's license. He served on the airport board and was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother, Douglas Craig of Bellingham, Wash.; six nieces and one nephew. His wife, parents, one sister and one brother are deceased.
