Obituary

Funeral services for Erma Lee Cox, 87, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Greg Smith of First Baptist Church of Brazoria officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Cox died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, in Plainview. She was born July 28, 1920, in Winters to Walter and Dollie Hurt. She married Lester Bradford Cox on Oct. 23, 1937, in Plainview. He died in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Halfway. She was a homemaker and lived in the community since 1959. Survivors include her daughter, Wynona Wells of Seguin; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Darwin and Connie Cox of Olton, Philip and Nancy Cox of Plainview and Kelly and Dana Cox of Stillwater, Okla.; three sisters, Olene Yates and Mary Kathryn Meester, both of Plainview, and LyVonne Davis of Forth Worth; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her parents are deceased.
