Covey, Wayne Allen (Corky), Mrs. (Rola B. Smith)

Services for Rola B. Covey, 74, of Abernathy will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt and David Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Covey died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in Lubbock. She was born June 11, 1929, in Abernathy and married W. A. "Corky" Covey on Jan. 7, 1949, in Abernathy. She owned and operated Covey Insurance Agency until retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two sons, Oscar Allen Covey on Jan. 27, 1955, and Noe Jeff Covey on Feb. 19, 1968.

She is survived by her husband, W. A. "Corky" Covey of Abernathy; a son, Smith Wayne "Smitty" Covey of Manasas, Va.; two daughters, Rickie Vasek of Abernathy and Tina McNeill of Happy; and six grandchildren, LeAnn McCusker, Wayne Covey, Tamber and Koby Vasek, and Blake and Kelsea McNeill.
