ABERNATHY - Graveside services Blanche Zeman cook, 91, of Abilene, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Abernathy Cemetery with Alan R. Zeman officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cook died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in the Winderest Alzheimer?s Center in Abilene.

She was born Jan 11, 1909, in Jackson County, near Melrose, Wise. She moved to Abernathy in 1921 with her family and graduated from Abernathy High School. She graduated from Texas Technological College on May 21, 1930, with a degree in mathematics and taught business at Idalou High School and at Texas Tech. During World War 11 she was an inspector for the Food Rationing Services. She retired from the Texas Department of Human Services in Abilene.

She was a member of First Christian in Abilene and been active in their adult Sunday School Class.

On June 22, 1945, she married Jack F. Cook in Odessa.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Kate Zeman of Pecos; a niece, Donna Carlsen of Abilene; and a nephew, Alan R. Zeman of Pecos.
