Funeral services for Mittie G. Collins, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Garland Streeet Church of Christ with Russell Harris, minister, and J.W. Hamby, an elder, officiating.
Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Collins died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Plainview Healthcare Center.
She was born Sept. 8, 2004, at Plainview Healthcare Center.
She was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Okra, Texas. She married Milton O.C. Collins on Dec. 5, 1930, in Clovis, N.M. He died in June 1980.
She lived in Plainview for 71 years, moving from Olton. She and her husband owned Collins Furniture and Appliance, which was located on Broadway for 36 years. The Collinses first converted propane stoves to gas at this location.
She was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Marie Collins of El Paso; one daugther, Dorothy Bradley of Plainview; one brother, Byron Maddux of Long Beach, Calif.; four granddaughters, Vernah Ramsower and her husband, Brad, of Plainview, Vickie McNeil of Lubbock, Terri Snoddy of Cloudcroft, N.M., and Sheri Mitchell of El Paso; two grandsons, Robert and David Collins of El Paso; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a grandson, Mark Bradley; four brothers, Homer, James, Arthur and Willie Maddux; and three siters Miriam McCay, Dean Wood and Ethel Ello Maddux are deceased.
