Obituary

Funeral services for Cortis Coleman, 82, of Tulia, will be at 2 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel in Plainview with the Rev. Scott Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Coleman died Wednesday, May 22, 2002. He was born July 27, 1919, in Quanah. He moved to Olton and attended schools and farmed for many years. He worked for Hale County in maintenance for 18 years and, after retiring, moved to Tulia. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia and the Interna-tional Order of Odd Fellows. In 1970, he married Maybel Sanders. She died Sept. 28, 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Flovin of San Manuel, Ariz.; a son, Don Coleman of Bothell, Wash.; two sisters, Essie Lee Sluder of Olton and Wava Barrick of Abernathy; a brother, F.B. Coleman of Irving; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
