Coe, John Grady, Mrs. (Irene)

Funeral services for Irene Coe, 93, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coe died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, in Hi-Plains Nursing Home in Hale Center.

She was born July 11, 1907 in Matoy, Okla. She grew up in Matoy and Ada, Okla. and attended the Presbyterian College in Durant, Okla. She married John G. Coe Sr. on Aug. 3, 1926 in Durant. He died Feb. 20. 1977.

After marriage, she lived in Lyford, moved to Dawn in 1929, to Tulia in 1944 and later to Muleshoe. She moved to Plainview in 1957 and worked for West Pharmacy as a sales clerk in the cosmetics department until the pharmacy closed.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Delphin Club.

Surviving are two sons, John Coe of Dallas and Benton Coe of Plainview; three sisters, Mary F. Koonce and Opal Davis, both of Lubbock, and Bernice Noble of Amarillo; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Four brothers are deceased.
