Obituary

Reece Duward Cobb, 90, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2005, in Burnet after a long illness. He was born January 30, 1916, in Pampa, Texas, to Ervin and Lela Freeman Cobb. In his early years, Reece was a farmer and rancher in Burnet County. Later he became an airline agent, Bellanca aircraft dealer and, later, manager for Continental Airlines in Los Angeles, Calif. He retired 25 years ago and returned to Texas. Reece was preceded in death by his sister, Para Cobb Render, and granddaughter, Audra Cobb. Reece is survived by his wife of 24 years, Billie Marie; his son, Dewain Cobb, and wife, Carolyn, of Austin; his son, Larry Cobb, and wife, Barbara, of Weatherford; stepsons, Johnny Young of Perryton and Coleman Young and wife, Melissa, of Clovis, N.M., stepdaughters Merrie Turberg and husband, Tom, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Sandra Aven and husband, Brett, of Plainview. Twelve grandchildren survive: Chanel Cobb Claxon and husband, Tim, of San Diego, Calif.; Anissa Cobb Cure and husband, Douglas, of Katy; Adam Cobb of Austin; Celenda Young of Houston; Lacie, Matthew, Benjamin, Rena and Tamera Young of Clovis, N.M.; Tiffany Young of Burnet; Chance Aven of Plainview and Tara Turberg of Philadelphia, Penn. Reece is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Joel Cure of Katy. Other survivors include his niece, Paralyn Render Moore, and husband, Don, of Canyon; great-nephew Monty Moore and wife, Kristen, and son, Aiden, of Nazareth; great-nephew Max Moore and wife, Tiffany, of Kress; great-niece Mandi Moore of Albuquerque, N.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Vandeveer Church of Christ Building Fund, P.O. Box 1067, Burnet, TX 78611, or Vistacare Hospice Foundation, 7800 Shoal Creek Blvd., Suite 130-W, Austin, TX 78757. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Edgar Funeral Home. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. the morning of the service. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Plainview Memorial Park.
