Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Louie Clay, 78, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at New Testament Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. Viewing will be at the church on Monday.
Jimmy passed away May 6, 2011. He was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Abilene, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; sons, Jimmy Clay Jr., J.D. Clay and Jerald Devin Clay; sister, Pearl Miers; brother-in-law, Wayne Kemp; four stepchildren, David Hamlin, Greg Hamlin, Teresa Parks and Denise Berry; six grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Doyle Clay, and two sisters, Patsy Shoemake and Lois Kemp.
