Obituary

Funeral services for Wade E. Clark, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with Ron Trusler, executive director of Central Plains Center, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral home. Mr. Clark died at 4:17 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2002, at his residence. He was born Dec. 1, 1914, in Rising Star where he grew up and graduated from high school. He attended Daniel Baker College and after college, worked in the oil fields. He farmed in Swisher County and also owned real estate agencies in both Plainview and Longview. He also owned and operated Plainview?s first golf driving range. He was president of Plainview Realtors Association in the 1990s, charter member of the Calendar Club and Men?s Golf Association. On Oct. 29, 1983, he married Beverly Miller Padgett in Houston. Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Betty Clark of Wallkill, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Judy Finn of Plano; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Calvin Wade and Pam Padgett of Christmas, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Family Hospice, 4418 Olton Road, Plainview, TX 79072, or to a favorite charity.
