HALE CENTER -- Funeral services for Thomas Charles "T.C." Clark, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hale Center Church of Christ with Silas Short officiating. Arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Clark died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at his residence. He was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Silver Valley. He received his master's degree from Sul Ross College and coached basketball and taught history in Merkel. He married Vynomma Parks on Dec. 20, 1940, in Post. After World War II in which he served in the Army Air Corps, he and his wife moved to Aspermont. He was later a school administrator in Putnam, Post and moved to Hale Center in July 1966. He worked in education for 53 years. He was active in the Lions Club, an elder in the Church of Christ and was named Citizen of the Year in 1991. Survivors include his wife; one son, Tom Clark of College Station; one daughter, Julie Heathington of O'Donnell; one brother, Bryan Leland Clark of Dallas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Mary Phillips, died in 1977. The family suggests memorials to the Children's Home in Lubbock, P.O.
