Obituary

Memorial services for Dorothy Jean Chavez, 60, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dare to Believe Ministries with Dennis Hartley officiating. Cremation arrangements are with Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Chavez died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at Plainview Healthcare Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Loveland, Colo., to Trinidad Flores and Pablo Ferdin. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Ruben Castellanos of Bakersfield, Calif., and Joe Christopher Valdez of Plainview; three daughters, Maria Rosario Bush of Johnstown, Ohio, Irene Garcia of San Antonio and Rebecca Valdez of Plainview; three brothers, Richard Ferdin, Juan Ferdin and David Ferdin, all of Plainview; four sisters, Jacinta Izaguirre, Sylvia Ortegon and Guadalupe Ferdin, all of Plainview, and Eva Estep of Rochester, Ind.; 28 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
