Obituary

Funeral services for Martha Chatham, 88, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Chatham died at 12:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born July 29, 1916, in Lockney and graduated from Lockney High School in 1932. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton. She moved to Plainview in 1960 and worked as an accountant for James Angel Accounting. Mrs. Chatham was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Plainview Women's Golf Association, Duplicate Bridge Club and the Coronado Study Club. She was a leader of Brownie and Cub Scouts for many years. She married Thomas Harry Chatham on Dec. 19, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. He died Jan. 26, 1986. Survivors include one daughter, Cheri Trowbridge of Lafayette, La.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Tonei Chatham of Plainview; and a grandson, Tad Chatham of Plainview. A sister and brother are deceased. The family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church or to a favorite charity.
