Services for D.R. ?Doc? Chapman, 85, of Hale Center will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Hale Center with the Rev. Gene Meacham officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Chapman died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Hi-Plains Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1914 in Chandler and married Cleva Stewart Jan. 2, 1935 in Leonard. He moved to Hale Center in 1953 from Acuff. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served on the board of the Hale Center Coop Gin, the Hale Center Coop Supply, the Hale Center Labor Camp and the Hale Center ASCS.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Chapman of Hale center, Michael Chapman of Fort Worth and Jerry Chapman of Lubbock; two daughters, Mary Lou Rastetter of Carrollton and Wynella Perry of Waukesha, Wis.; three brothers, Frank Chapman of Nacogdoches, Cecil Chapman of Dallas and J.F. Chapman of Lubbock; two sisters, Gladys Sudderth of Dodge City and Ruth Parker of Grand Prairie; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
