Obituary

Funeral services for Bernice K. Chaney, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with the Rev. Dean McNamara, VistaCare Family Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Chaney died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, in Prairie House Living Center. She was born Jan. 7, 1911, in Limestone County. She moved to the Plainview area in 1929 and worked as a clerk at Gabriel?s, Perry?s Variety, Star Discount, J.C. Penney and as a caregiver for the last few years. She retired in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Dick Johnson of Plainview and LaQueta and Keith Garner of Bovina; a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Kay Chaney of Plainview; one sister, Imogene Parsons of Plainview; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Family Hospice, 4418 Olton Road, Plainview, TX 79072.
