Cervantes, Agapito M., Sr., Mrs. (Simona Avalos)

Funeral Mass for Simona Avalos Cervantes.60, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard Kenney, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 7 tonight and Monday at Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cervantes died at 7:10 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 28, 1942 in Manor. She married Agapito M. Cervantes Sr. on Nov. 23, 1960, in Rotan. He died Dec. 15, 2001.

She was a Catholic.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Stella and Catarino Esparza and Kathleen Cervantes, all of Hale Center, and Deanna and Cipriano Gonzales and use and Gilberto Garcia, all of Plainview; one son and daughter-in-law, Agapito III and Betty Cervantes of Lubbock; seven sisters, Lucy A. Albu, Paula Reyna, Sofia A Navega, Rosa Alvarez and Luisa A. Cardova, all of Elgin; Francisca A. Quinonez of Manor and Petra A. Vasquez of Lann; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Three brothers and four sisters are deceased.
