Obituary

Petra R. Cerda, 86, of Lubbock, formerly of Plainview, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Lubbock. Prayer service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Primera Iglesia Bautista with the Rev. Glen Godsey officiating. Petra is survived by her children, Irene Cortez, Mira Tagle, Ofelia Cardenas, Emma Quintana, Anita Saldana, Virginia Garza, Irma Rangel and Rudy Cerda, all of Lubbock; Armando Cerda of San Antonio and Beatriz Solorzano of Fresno, Calif.; brother, Luther Rodriguez of Plainview; sister, Victorana Cervantez of California; 35 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Odyssey Hospice and Heritage Oaks Nursing Home for the care and compassion given during their time of need
