Obituary

MOUNT PLEASANT - Memorial services for Syble Cecil, 76, former Edmonson resident, will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 24 in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Cecil died at 7:55 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in a Mount Pleasant convalescent center. Cremation arrangements were by a Dallas mortuary. Mrs. Cecil was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Cookville in Titus County. She grew up in Cookville then moved to the Plainview area. She lived in Edmonson for about 40 years before moving to Mount Pleasant six years ago to live in an assisted living home. She was a Baptist. Her husband, Curtis Cecil, is deceased. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Dorothy Cecil of Edmonson, Landria and Jeannie Cecil of Cookville, and Douglas Cecil of Henderson; three brothers, J.C. Pool, Larry Pool of Arkansas and Perry Bob Pool of Andrews; two sisters, Joann Deisher and Patricia Jones, both of Plainview; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Hospice or to the Parkinson?s Foundation.
