Obituary

Ann Russell Castleberry, 78, passed away at her home in Plainview on Friday, July 4, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Gayland Pool of Fort Worth officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Monday at Kornerstone. Mrs. Castleberry was born on Dec. 31, 1935, to Hollis and Drucilla Russell in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and attended Gulf Park College in Gulf Port, Miss., where she was awarded the title "Most Intellectual." She then attended and received her degree from Texas Tech University. Ann married Bob Castleberry at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on June 29, 1957. Ann was always devoted to being a homemaker for her family. Ann also worked with Bob in the stock brokerage business for several years and later was a sales representative for many years at Doncaster Clothes. She had served as president of the Plainview Symphony Orchestra Guild for several years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Great Books Club, Junior Service League of Plainview, Bridge Club, St Mark's Episcopal Church and St. Mary's Altar Society. Ann was preceded in death by two children, Stephen Castleberry and Mary Drucilla Castleberry, by her parents and a brother, Hugh Russell. Ann is survived by her husband, Bob of Plainview; one daughter, Susan Feasel and husband Robert of Bedford; four grandchildren, Thomas Peoples, John Peoples, Anna Peoples, Elizabeth Feasel and one step-grandson, Dorian Feasel, all of Bedford; one brother, Hollis Russell Jr.; sister-in-law, Ann Stair and husband Charles; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Interim Healthcare Hospice.
