Obituary

Leonor Botello Rios Castillo, born on April 25, 1933, in Ranchitos Tamaulipas, Mexico, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow the service in Abernathy Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the care and direction of Lemons Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today, Nov. 1, 2012, at the funeral home. Leonor married Simon Castillo, who survives her, on Jan. 1, 1956, in Carmargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. They had three children: son Joe "Andy" Castillo and wife Pat of Graham; daughter Martha Bird and husband Tommy of San Marcos; and son Victor Castillo and Patrick Cook of San Antonio. She has two granddaughters: Heather Marie Singleton and husband Dempsey Singleton of Fort Worth; and Joni Bree Castillo of Addison; and one great-grandson, Dempsey O'Neil Singleton. She had eight brothers and sisters, four of whom have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Victor Manuel Castillo. Leonor was a cook for 20 years. She was a wonderful, kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She would laugh until tears filled her eyes and the whole room laughed with her.
