Castilleja, Eluterio,Sr.

Petersburg-Funeral Mass for Eluterio Castilleja Sr.,76, will be at 1p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Judd and the Rev. Louis Dussan officiating.

Military graveside services will be in Petersburg Cemetery. Arrangements are by White Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Mr. Castilleja died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in Lubbock.

He was born April 18, 1922, in Rosebud where he grew up and attended schools. He moved to Petersburg in 1949 from Lorenzo. He worked as a landscaper for 30 years, was a farmer for Wayne Thorpe for more than 16 years, and was maintenance engineer for Petersburg schools for 30 years before retiring in 1998.

He was active in the annual Castilleja family reunion, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the parish council and choir and a member of the GI Forum. He served with the U.S. Army during World War 11.

On April 1, 1948, he married Manuela Macias in Lorenzo.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Domingo M. Castilleja of Petersburg; and Eluterio M. ?J.R.? Castilleja Jr. of Lubbock; three daughters, Bernabe Gonzalez of Oklahoma City and Bentura Navarro and Virginia Sedillo, both of Petersburg; two brothers, Santiago Castilleja Sr., and Natividad Castilleja Sr. both of Oceano, Calif.; two sisters, Guadalupe Villanueva of Olton and Juanita Briseno of Loraine; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, Andrew Castilleja, is deceased.

The family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Church pavement fund, Petersburg, TX 79250.
