Casteel, Floyd, Mrs. (Ruby Lee Price)

KRESS ? Funeral services for Ruby Lee Casteel, 89, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Simpson, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jack McClung, chaplain of Prairie House Living Center in Plainview.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home of Plainview.

Mrs. Casteel died at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in Prairie House Living Center in Plainview.

She was born June 29, 1911 in Revenna, the daughter of Hallie T and Irene Florence Kelley Price. She moved to Spearman as a child and then to Plainview in 1923 and to Kress in 1929.

She drove a school bus for eight years and also worked in the school cafeteria, for the Plainview hospital, worked in alterations for the Dixie Shop in Plainview and for Losson?s Restaurant in Kress.

She also worked for nursing homes in Tulia and Plainview and cared for elderly in their homes.

She married Odis Taylor King on Dec. 1, 1931 in Clovis, N.M. He died Aug. 8, 1969. She married Floyd Casteel on June 29, 1974 in Kress.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday School class. She enjoyed art, painting, needlework and crafts.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Bobby J. King of Lubbock and Jerry W. King of Houston; five daughters, Dovie A. Gilleland of Plainview, Genell K. Vaught of Plano, Willa D. Holligan of Amarillo, Betty J. Sherer of Madisonville and Linda Castell Hoffman of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother H.T. Price Jr. of Iola, Kan.; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Three sisters, Gladys Young, Aline Culpepper and Willie Faye Price, and a brother, Rulen T. Price, are deceased.

Pallbearers will be Matt Gilleland, Dr. Dwight Vaught, Darrell Sherer, Barry Cosby, Jim Bob Burnett and Brent Slaton.
