Obituary

Funeral services for Mildred M. Cartwright, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with Dr. Max Browning, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Cartwright died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at her residence while under hospice care. She was born Feb. 19, 1914, in Boone County, Ark., to Robert and Minnie Simmons. She married Max Leon Cartwright on Dec. 20, 1933, in Harrison, Ark. He died Aug. 18, 1992. She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed quilting, china painting and needle crafts. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mava and Fayne Wolford of Stockton, Calif., Shirley and Stanley Holgate of Fayetteville, N.C., and Carol and Kent Taylor of Plainview; a sister, Faye Covey of Fort Scott, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A daughter, Betty Holgate, and a great-grandchild, Patricia McCain, are deceased. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to hospice or First Christian Church.
