Obituary

Funeral services for Willie Mae Carter, 81, will be 2 p.m. Friday in Emanuel Church of God in Christ with Elder Russell Wise, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, in Baptist St. Anthony Hospice in Amarillo. She was born April 4, 1924, in Smithville, to Tommy and Rosetta Sanders Simmons. A homemaker, she was a member of Emanuel Church of God in Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Willie Bell Brigham, and adopted daughter, Sarah Harper, of Amarillo; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her parents, two sisters and a great-granddaughter are deceased. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
