Funeral services for Evelyn Rose Jackson Carter, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lemons Memorial Chapl with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, in Azle Manor.

She was born June 11, 1917, in Plainview where she grew up and attended schools. She was a homemaker and owned and operated Evelyn's Dress Shop for many years.

She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Calender Club and First Baptist Church.

In 1933, she married William Lyle Jackson. He died in 1971. In 1975, she married William "Bill" Carter. He died in 2002.

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Jerre and Robert Knoblock of Azle, Kay and Ronnie Duncan of Plano, Nancy and Marion Whitfield of Georgetown, Luan and Kent Haynes of Wimberly and Sally and Bob Montgomery of Newport Richie, Fla.; a sister, Janet Tannery of Conroe; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Covenant Hospital Auxiliary.
