Obituary

Funeral services for Lottie Carter, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Baptist Church with the Rev. M.L. White officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at her residence. She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Sabine County to Spencer and Iva Roberts. She was married to John Carter. He died June 29, 2003. She worked in private homes and was a private babysitter. She was a member of United Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Steven Carter of Plainview and Greg Carter of Abilene; four daughters, Willie Faye Polite and Lorene Carter Jackson, both of Plainview, and Melinda Clarke and Melissa Armstrong, both of Phoenix; two sisters, Nettie Brigham and Earlean Johnson, both of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
