Obituary

Zula Mae (Wyatt) Carlton, 94, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 24, 2015. A Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Olustee, Oklahoma, to Noah and Mary Elizabeth Wyatt. She graduated from high school in Melrose, New Mexico. On Nov. 24, 1948, she married Wilburn Carlton and moved to Friona, Texas. She began her career with Southwestern Public Service, transferring to Plainview, Texas, until her retirement in 1985. She was a long time member of College Heights Baptist Church. Zula was preceded in death by her husband Wilburn, her parents, seven brothers, and three sisters.
