Obituary

Funeral services for Royce A. Carlton, 76, were at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Manuel Rodriguez, associate pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Carlton died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Olton. He worked as a typesetter at The Plainview Daily Herald for more than 40 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include one son, Bob Carlton of Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Charolette Hembree of Plainview and Cathie Harrison of Graham; one sister, Naomi Wilburn of Lubbock; one brother, Marty Carlton of Odessa; six grandchildren, Sean Carlton of Olympia, Wash., Trevor Carlton of Los Angeles, Calif., Shane Hembree of Plainview and Chance Harrison and Crystal Harrison-Clayton, both of Graham; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
