Obituary

PERRY, Okla. - Funeral services for Robert C. Cargill, 66, former Plainview resident, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Cargill died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Plainview where he grew up and attended schools. He served with the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and was a disabled veteran. On Sept. 3, 1956, he married Emma Avants in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Patricia Lowe of Perry; one son, Jerry Cargill of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Fred Cargill of Plainview and Charles Cargill of Weatherford; three sisters, Elizabeth Bench of Plainview, and Gwen Sears and Geneva Phillips, both of Clarendon; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A brother, Jimmy D. Cargill, is deceased. The family will receive friends at Lemons Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to a favorite charity.
