Cargill, Alton F., Mrs. (Betty Jean Dillard)

Services for Betty Jean Dillard Cargill, 57, of Plainview will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cargill died Saturday, July 21, 2001, in her home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Abernathy and married Alton F. Cargill in October 1961. She was reared in Idabel, Okla. and moved to Lubbock in 1958. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1961 and then moved to Plainview.

She worked for the Hale County Sheriff?s Department for 20 years and was a member of the Texas Peace Officers Association. Mrs. Cargill was also a member of College Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Justin W. Cargill of Plainview; of Plainview; a daughter, Debbie Sharp of Tulia; her mother, Gussie M. Dillard of Lubbock; a brother, Doyle Dillard of Lubbock; a sister, Patsy Mountz of Lubbock; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James F. Cargill, and a brother, Tommy R. Dillard.
