Obituary

Margarita Cantu Cardenas, 72, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Margarita was born July 20, 1938, to Estanislao and Maria Cantu in Donna, Texas. She married her late husband, Fortunato Rocha Cardenas, in August 1958 in Donna. Fortunato passed away April 19, 1983. Margarita was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to cook for all her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters and two son-in-laws, Juana and Ruben Torres, Naomi Cardenas, and Lesvia and Juan Rodriguez, all of Plainview; one sister, Rita Lopez of Florida; three grandchildren, Ruben Torres Jr., Michael Torres and Jeremy Cardenas, all of Plainview; and seven great-grandchildren.
