Obituary

Rosary for Aurora Cantu, 78, of Dallas will be today at 7 p.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father David Cruz officiating. Burial will be at Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Aurora died on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Red Oak Health and Rehab Center in Dallas. She was born on Oct. 21, 1928, in Orange Grove to the late Tirzo (1969) and Maria Lopez (1940). She married Sotero Cantu, in 1967, in Abernathy. He preceded her in death in 2005. She moved to Dallas in 1978. She was a homemaker and a devoted Catholic. She is also preceded in death by three brothers Armondo Lopez 1988, Jose Lopez 2000, and Oscar Lopez 1939.

Survivors include: a son, Salvador Cantu of Dallas; two sisters, Josephine Melstead and Minerva Garcia both of Lubbock; two brothers, Oscar Lopez of Abernathy and Nat Lopez of Lubbock; a grandson, Ruben Cantu of Dallas and many nieces and nephews.
