Obituary

William Taylor Cantrell was born December 20, 1860 in Bolivar, MO to John & Nancy Isabel Taylor Cantrell. He married Ida Florence Gunn July 8, 1882 in Slagle Creek, Polk County, MO. They moved to Texas in the late 1880's, living several years in Montgomery, Knox and Floyd counties, then New Mexico for a short time. They moved to the Plainview, TX area in the early 1930's. His wife, Ida, died in 1952 in Plainview. He was living with his son in Mancos, CO at the time of his death. William and Ida had seven sons: John Osman, Gerald Burns (Gary), James Jefferson (Jim), Benjamin Benton (Ben), Arthur Ross, Charles Eugene (Gene) and Rube. They also had two daughters who died in childhood: Golden Isabel & Stella Vivian.
