Obituary

Funeral services for Ruby I. Cannon, 74, of Lone Oak, formerly of Plainview, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church of Plainview with Bob Hollars and Max Browning officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Quinlan Funeral Home of Quinlan. Mrs. Cannon died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006. She was born Dec. 21, 1931. She moved to Plainview as a junior in high school and graduated from Plainview High School in 1950. She worked for Southwestern Bell until she married Paul Lynnard Cannon on Feb. 19, 1954. He is deceased. She co-owned Smarti-Pants here from 1969-73. Over the years she also worked for the Village Shop, the Dixie Shop, Gabriel's and Jodie's and retired form Evalene's Imports in November 2004. She was a member of First Christian Church of Plainview. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Lynn and Diana Cannon of Lone Oak; and two granddaughters.
